Nature needs us. And we can have a lot of messy fun helping out by creating our very own recycled garden. It’s actually really simple. Go digging in the recycling for a sturdy, water resistant container. (Told you it was fun!) Then get yourself gravel, some soil and seeds to plant.
You’ll want to decorate your new pot, so you’ll need:
Cardboard
Glue
Marker pens
Paint and brushes
Ask your parents to help you cut off the top of the container to make a tray
Then carefully punch holes into the bottom of the container so that it will drain when watered
Now it’s time for the real adventure. Using the paint and markers, you can make your pot as colourful and beautiful as the plants that’ll grow in it.
Next, sprinkle a layer of gravel in the tray, place the container on top of it and fill it with soil.
Always make sure you plant your seeds at the right depth before giving them the perfect start with a good watering. Old bottles make really cool watering cans! Now you can find a sunny spot for your plant pot and watch Mother Nature work her magic.
