Find The Golden Ticket Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions prevail in the event of any conflict or inconsistency with any other communications, including advertising or promotional materials. Entry/claim instructions are deemed to form part of the Terms and Conditions and by participating all claimants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the Terms and Conditions. Please print a copy of these Terms and Conditions and retain for future reference.

1. The Promoter: Unilever UK Limited, Lever House, 3 St James Road, Kingston Upon Thames, KT1 2BA (please do not send any correspondence to this address). (“Promoter”).

2. Eligibility: Entry is open to residents of the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland). Entrant must be aged 18 or over. The following are excluded from entry:

a. Directors, management and employees of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies.

b. Directors, management and employees of Tesco plc.

c. Employees of agents or suppliers of the Promoter, or any third parties who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; and

d. Members of the immediate families or households of the above.

3. Requirements: All winners must have internet access, email address, mobile number and valid UK bank account to claim a prize.

4. Promotional Period: The Promotion opens on 14th August 2024 and closes in store on 8th September 2024 (the “Closing Date”).

5. The deadline for prize claims from winners is the 14th November 2024.

6. Entry Instructions: The Promotion is limited to a maximum of one prize per household. To enter:

a. Visit any participating Tesco Extra or Superstore and purchase a qualifying Persil or Surf product (as outlined in clause 8.) within the Promotional Period.

b. Following your purchase, open the lid to find out if there is a specially marked ‘Golden Ticket’ placed inside the product packaging. In the instance of finding a specially marked ‘Golden Ticket’, follow the instructions on the ‘Golden Ticket’ to claim your prize by 14th November 2024.

i. The winner will be required to scan the QR code on the 'Golden Ticket' or visit the website detailed on the ‘Golden Ticket’ and enter the unique code, batch code shown in the black box on the side of the product in which they found their ‘Golden Ticket’ and upload a photo of their receipt showing purchase of the qualifying product (as outlined in clause 8). The winner’s full name, email address and mobile number will be required. Once completed, a member of the Promoter’s team will make contact with the winner.

c. Claim for Prizes may only be made using the method described above. Claims by any other means (for example postal claims) shall not be accepted.

d. Retain original ‘Golden Ticket’ as proof of prize if requested.

7. The Promoter will not accept:

a. Responsibility for entries that are late, incorrect, illegible, incomplete, defaced, corrupt, lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, hardware or software failure of any kind or any other reason; or

b. Proof of transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the Prize Promotion.

No third party or bulk entries. Entries via third parties or syndicates, entries by macros or other automated means and entries which do not satisfy the requirements of these Terms and Conditions in full will be disqualified. If it becomes apparent that either an entrant or household is using any means to circumvent this condition such as, and without limitation, fraudulently falsifying data, acting fraudulently or dishonestly in the opinion of the Promoter using identities other than their own or any other automated means in order to increase the entrant’s entries or otherwise acting in violation of these terms, these entrants will be disqualified, and any prize entitlement will be void. Entrants are advised to take care when entering their details; the Promoter is not responsible for mistypes.

8. Prizes: There are 41 cash prizes to be won in total, throughout the duration of the promotional period:

a. 1 x £20,000 cash prize

b. 40 x £2,000 cash prizes

9. Winner Selection:

In order to win one of the prizes you will need to find one of the 41 x winning ‘Golden Tickets’ concealed inside the product packaging of selected Persil and Surf products. Qualifying Persil and Surf products are as follows:

• Persil Ultimate Care Capsules 38W – Active Clean

• Persil Ultimate Care Capsules 38W – Touch Of Persil

• Persil Ultimate Care Capsules 38W – Dark Colour Protect

• Persil 3in1 Capsules 26w – Bio

• Persil 3in1 Capsules 26w – Non Bio

• Surf 31in Capsules 26w – Tropical

• Surf 31in Capsules 26w – Passion Bloom

These qualifying products are available throughout the UK in participating UK Tesco Extra’s and Superstore’s for a limited period. Once they are gone, they are gone.

a. The 41 ‘Golden Tickets’ will be independently and randomly inserted inside the product packaging of qualifying promotional stock of Persil and Surf products. The qualifying Persil and Surf products will all look the same, but when the lid is opened, there will be a ‘Golden Ticket’ placed inside the product packaging and this will communicate that it is a winning pack. The contents of the Persil product will be untouched, and all packaging should be retained for reference as it contains important instructions and product information.

b. The winning qualifying products will be distributed in participating Tesco Extra’s and Superstore’s which have been selected via a randomised computer process. There will only be one winning qualifying product for each randomly chosen participating Tesco store.

10. Winner Notification:

a. If you purchase a winning Persil or Surf product with a specially marked ‘Golden Ticket’ concealed inside, you will need to submit a valid prize claim to secure your prize. Prize claims must be made by 14th November 2024. All entries received after that time will be automatically void and will not be eligible to win or claim their prize.

b. Full instructions on how to make a prize claim will be on the ‘Golden Ticket’ and must be followed to successfully claim your prize. As part of the claim process, you may be required to return your ‘Golden Ticket’ to the Promoter. Instructions on how to return the ‘Golden Ticket’ will be given at the end of the claim process. This will be at no cost to winners.

c. The Promoter will use reasonable efforts to contact winners. If a winner cannot be contacted or is not available after reasonable efforts by the Promoter, the Promoter is not obliged to award a prize to them.

d. Winners will be contacted by telephone within 7 working days of a valid claim. Should contact not be made then an email will be sent.

e. Once contact has been made winners will be required to provide their bank account details in order to receive their prize.

11. Purchase necessary for UK residents. Please retain your original ‘Golden Ticket’ as this may be required to validate your claim.

12. Strictly one claim per household.

13. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the promoter reserves the right to replace entire prizes or prize components with prizes of equal or greater value. There will be no cash alternative.

14. The Promoter reserves the right to amend or withdraw the Promotion if deemed necessary due to circumstances outside of its reasonable control.

15. The Promoter’s decision is final on all matters relating to the Promotion.

16. If the Promoter has reasonable grounds for believing that an entrant has contravened the Terms and Conditions, the Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative Winner if these grounds arise during the Promotional Period and if these grounds arise after the Promotional Period, the prize will be forfeited.

17. The Winners’ surnames and counties can be requested, by sending a stamped self-addressed envelope to Persil Winners List (8278), PO Box 906, Chilton, Aylesbury, HP22 9HR and will be available for a period of 4 weeks from 14th November 2024.

18. By entering this Promotion, each entrant acknowledges that if is they are a Winner, their surname and county may be disclosed to persons enquiring, where permitted by law. Any winner may object to their information being made available in this way or may request that the amount of information made available be reduced, by contacting the Promoter. In these circumstances the entrant acknowledges that the Promoter may nevertheless disclose such information in full to the Advertising Standards Authority if required to do so.

19. The Promoter will verify the eligibility of winners. The Promoter will require such information that it considers reasonably necessary for this purpose and a Prize may be withheld unless and until the Promoter is satisfied with the verification.

20. Where a Winner has been found to be in breach of any of these Terms and Conditions and in particular where a person is in breach of the entry restrictions, the Promoter may nevertheless still enforce its right to disqualify that person and require the return or reimbursement to the Promoter of any Prize even where a Prize has been awarded and/or actually provided to the entrant or Winner in question.

21. The Promoter makes no representation or warranty in relation to any Prize provided. Except as specifically set out herein and to the maximum extent permitted by law, all conditions, warranties and representations expressed or implied by law are hereby excluded. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we hereby exclude and shall not have any liability to any entrant or Winners in connection with or arising out of this Promotion howsoever caused, including for any costs, expenses, forfeited prizes, damages and other liabilities, provided that nothing herein shall operate so as to limit or exclude our liability for personal injury or death caused by our negligence or liability for fraudulent misrepresentation. For the avoidance of doubt, this paragraph shall also apply in respect of any prize provided by a third-party provider.

22. If for any reason the Promotion is not capable of running as planned for reasons including but not limited to tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Promotion, the Promoter reserves the right (subject to any written directions given under applicable law) to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process and to terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion.

23. If an act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter and which prevents the Promoter from complying with these Terms and Conditions, the Promoter will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligation.

24. Winners may be invited to participate in reasonable publicity arising from the Promotion with no further compensation.

25. Entrants’ personal data collected for the purpose of administering this Promotion by the Promoter and/or by its agents will be handled in accordance with Promoter’s privacy notice, available at https://www.unilevernotices.com/privacy-notices/united-kingdom-english.html

26. These terms and conditions and any issues or disputes which may arise out of or in connection with these terms and conditions (whether such disputes or issues are contractual or non-contractual in nature, such as claims in tort, for breach of statute or regulation or otherwise) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law. Entrants hereby irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts to settle any such dispute or issues.
